Information we collect and how we use it

In order to better service our customers, we may collect the following types of information:

Customer information – When an order is placed, information including first name, last name, company name, country, street address, phone number, and email address are collected. This information is input by you at the point of sale. This information is collected only to facilitate online ordering, and is stored securely online to keep track of orders.

LMS account information – When an online order is placed, the first name, last name, and email address that are collected at the point of sale are used to automatically create an account in the znanja LMS, the partner LMS for Velsoft Virtual Campuses. The znanja LMS does not receive any other information.

Billing information – In order to place an online order, billing information must be given through Stripe, our accredited third-party payment provider. This information is not viewable or accessible to website administrators or Velsoft Training Materials staff, and is securely stored by Stripe.

Choices for personal information

To place an online product order, we ask you to provide personal information. If we wish to use this information in a manner different than the purpose for which it was collected, then we will ask for your consent prior to such use.

You can decline to submit personal information to any of our services, in which case we may not be able to provide those services to you. Only the minimum amount of information needed to complete a transaction is collected.

The personal information we collect is retained only as long as it is needed to provide you with the services you want. Information on customers is kept as long as you continue being our customer. If you ask, your information will be removed from our records.

As an individual, you have the right to access any of your personal information that we store, and can request that we provide it to you in an easily accessible and portable format. You can also request that we revise any data found to be inaccurate, or delete data at your request (where permitted by law). Every information request will be processed without delay within 28 days of being received. Personal information and privacy inquiries can be forwarded to Ryan Fraser, or Velsoft’s Privacy Officer.

Citizens of the European Union also have the right to object to the use of their data in a data processing function, given appropriate grounds, as outlined in the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). EU citizens may also ask that we restrict the use of their personal data in processing functions in particular circumstances.

Information sharing

The personal information that you provide to us will never be shared with other companies or individuals without your express consent.

There are certain circumstances where we are required to release information to satisfy the following:  We have a good faith belief that access, use, preservation or disclosure of such information is reasonably necessary to (a) satisfy any applicable law, regulation, legal process or enforceable governmental request, (b) enforce applicable Terms of Service, including investigation of potential violations thereof, (c) detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security or technical issues, or (d) protect against harm to the rights, property or safety of Velsoft, its users or the public as required or permitted by law.

Please contact us if you have any additional questions about the management or use of personal data.

Information security

We take appropriate security measures to protect against the unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction of data. These include internal reviews of our data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures, as well as physical security measures to guard against unauthorized access to systems where we store personal data.

We restrict the access of personal information to our website administrators, and certain IT staff at Velsoft Training Materials who need access to the system in order to operate, develop or improve our services. These individuals are bound by confidentiality obligations and may be subject to discipline, including termination and criminal prosecution, if they fail to meet these obligations.

Enforcement

We regularly review our compliance with this Privacy Policy. Please feel free to direct any questions or concerns regarding this Privacy Policy or our treatment of personal information by contacting Ryan Fraser, or Velsoft’s Privacy Officer.

When we receive privacy complaints, it is our policy to contact the complainant regarding his or her concerns. We will cooperate with the appropriate regulatory authorities, including local data protection authorities, to resolve any complaints regarding the transfer of personal data that cannot be resolved.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

Please note that this Privacy Policy may change from time to time. We will not reduce your rights under this Privacy Policy without your explicit consent, and we expect most of any such changes will be minor. Regardless, we will post any Privacy Policy changes on this page and, if the changes are significant, we will provide a more prominent notice (including, for certain services, email notification of Privacy Policy changes).
